FEC Heliports is proud to announce the successful installation of HEMS-Star rechargeable battery powered LED helipad lighting system designed for fast deployment and use by HEMS teams in temporary and emergency situations at Queen's Hospital Helipad, Romford.
HEMS-Star provides safe and effective marking at designated or ad-hoc helicopter landing zones.
The supply of HEMS-Star to the Queen's hospital marks a significant milestone in emergency medical care in the region, ensuring that air ambulances can now safely land 24/7 on the hospital helipad for the first time.
Previously, the lack of lighting on the helipad restricted the ability of air ambulances to land at night or in low-visibility conditions. With the installation of state-of-the-art HEMS-Star lighting, this challenge has been overcome, improving the hospital's capacity to receive urgent medical cases around the clock.

More Accessibility: Air Ambulance will now be able to land safely during darkness hours, ensuring more critical patients receive timely medical intervention.
Improved patient outcomes: Faster access to the hospital- which has a primary stroke unit-any time of the day or night meaning quicker treatment for patients in critical condition, increasing the chances of recovery.
