Addenbrookes Hospital Helipad v2 2022 – Powered By Solar
FEC Heliports are delighted to announce that we will again be working with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and East Anglia Air Ambulance (EAAA), together with Breheny Civil Engineering Ltd, on the installation of the new Addenbrookes Hospital helipad.
The new helipad will be of a similar size and capability as the current one, in order to acommodate the various medium and super-medium performance class air ambulance aircraft from the surrounding regions, that regularly use it. As well as the occassional SAR or possible Osprey visit!
With the above in mind; FEC Heliports have been instructed to equip the new helipad with their latest PAD-Star® Solar Powered Visible/IR Lighting System, which like the current system; can be controlled through remote air to ground activation, over VHF. All in all, it will be a market leading, future proofed, night operational, solar powered HLS, that, like the current one, will undoubtedly perform without issue for many years to come.
The project is due to complete around the end of March 2022, at which point the existing night operational helipad will be fully decommissioned and all operations will seemlessly switch across to the new one, close by. Please stay tuned for further updates and photos from us of the new helipad in April 2022.
FEC PAD-Star Solar Helipad Lighting System
The FEC PAD-Star® Lighting System can be installed and operationally ready within as little as 7-10 days, depending on the inherent ground conditions.
It provides a market leading, economical, re-locatable, semi-permanent heliport lighting solution, that can be implemented almost anywhere in the world, due to its solar or mains powered capability.
The FEC PAD-Star® Lighting System comes with the option of either inset, ground mounted or pole mounted LED/IR lights available in all ICAO recommended colours (White, Green, Blue, Amber and Red), has VHF & UHF integrated connectivity and with the addition of an FEC LED internally illuminated WDI; results in an economical yet fully compliant high visibility/night operational helipad solution.
We look forward to hearing from you to discuss the Pad-Star Lighting System and your heliport lighting requirements further. Please contact: sales@heliportsequipment.com
