Providing Essential Lighting to London Air Ambulance

London Air Ambulance HEMS-Star® Delivery

We are pleased to announce that London's Air Ambulance has received a case of our HEMS-Star® portable helipad lights. This development continues our ongoing work with the HELP appeal who generously provided funding for the purchase.

Robert Bertram, Chief Executive of the HELP Appeal, said: “If there is another way that we can help hospitals and air ambulances provide the best trauma care possible, we are delighted to help. This lighting will help LAA dramatically particularly during winter when there are fewer daylight hours.”

A case of HEMS-Star® weighs only 10.6Kg and contains eight powerful rechargeable battery powered LED helipad lights that can rapidly be deployed at designated or ad-hoc helicopter landing areas. HEMS-Star® lighting will help London Air Ambulance to extend their operational hours by providing safe and effective marking of night time landing sites. The charity also plans to use HEMS-Star® as a vital training tool at their base at RAF Northolt.

Fraser MacKay, Commercial Director of FEC Heliports Equipment Ltd said: “We are proud to support the HELP Appeal’s continuing mission to promote, develop and enhance support for the provision of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services throughout the country. The delivery of a case of HEMS-Star® to London's Air Ambulance will help in their essential work to bring the hospital to the patient wherever that may be and safely deliver their services outside of daylight hours.”
